might not cost you anything …
Yet, they can cost economies billions.

In the U.S. alone where
12.5 % of the population has nocturia,
a health condition that affects the lower urinary tract,
causing frequent nighttime urination,
has an estimated cost to the economy of
44.4 billion a year.

This cost is due to the fact
that people who get up at least 2x a night
to use the bathroom tend to more likely
to be less productive at work–
because, well, not getting enough sleep at night
can leave one tired during the day.
