11% who say they participate in four or more community groups.
19% of all participants surveyed
are involved with church groups and religious organizations,
which is the same number as those belonging to hobby groups or clubs.
18% are involved in charitable groups and volunteer organizations
16% are working with professional associations.
Education, wealth, and age influence participation as does religion with
72% of Jews,
61% of Protestants, and
53% of Catholics participating in at least one community group or organization.
